Assateague Coastal Trust
Assateague Coastal Trust formed in 1970 with the goal of protecting Maryland’s Assateague Island from significant development. Thanks largely to its efforts, Assateague Island is now preserved as both a state and national park. ACT continues its legacy of protecting coastland throughout Maryland and Virginia through water quality monitoring, advocacy and education.
